Configurix Limited is the data controller for personal data processed through localads.ie. This notice explains what we collect, why we use it and the choices available to you.
Last updated 28 July 2026
1. Controller and contact details
Configurix Limited, company number 808025, is registered in Ireland with its registered office at 12A Lower Main Street, Lucan, Co. Dublin, K78 X5P8, Ireland. Privacy enquiries and rights requests: privacy@localads.ie. General enquiries: hello@localads.ie.
2. Personal data we collect
Account data: email address, authentication identifiers and account timestamps. Profile and verification data: display name, biography, account type, business details, verification status, declarations and any evidence submitted for restricted publisher categories. Marketplace data: ad titles, descriptions, prices, condition, county, locality, photos, favourites, saved searches, alert preferences and publication history. Communication and safety data: private messages, conversation participants, reports, report details and support correspondence. Promotion data: Stripe customer and checkout identifiers, selected promotion, amount, currency, payment status, refund status and payment-event records. We do not receive or store full card or bank-account credentials. Technical data: security, authentication and service logs, IP address, device or browser information and essential cookie identifiers generated by our infrastructure providers.
3. How data is obtained
Most information comes directly from you when you register, create a profile, publish an ad, upload a photo, save an ad, send a message, submit a report or contact us. Technical and security data is generated when you use the service. Other users may provide information about you when they message you or report content.
4. Purposes and lawful bases
Contract: to create and secure your account, publish and manage ads, provide favourites, connect buyers and sellers, deliver messages and provide requested support. Legitimate interests: to prevent fraud and abuse, moderate content, investigate reports, protect users, maintain service reliability and establish or defend legal claims. Our interests are operating a safe, useful and accountable marketplace. Legal obligation: to respond to lawful requests, preserve required records and comply with applicable Irish and EU law. Consent: for optional marketplace analytics, advertising measurement, third-party advertising and external maps. You may reject or withdraw consent at any time without losing core marketplace access or affecting earlier lawful processing.
5. Public and private information
Published ads, seller display names, biographies, membership year and verification status are public and may be indexed by search engines and AI search services. Your email address is not displayed publicly. Marketplace messages are visible only to conversation participants and authorised personnel where access is necessary for safety, support or legal compliance. Reports are restricted to the reporter and authorised administrators.
6. Recipients and service providers
We use service providers to operate the platform, including Supabase for authentication, database and file storage; Vercel for application hosting, delivery and scheduled functions; Stripe for optional Featured advertising payments and refunds; MapTiler for consented external maps; and either a configured SMTP provider or Resend for saved-search alerts. Google advertising remains disabled until a Google-certified CMP and final provider disclosures are configured. Providers act under contractual and data-protection obligations. We may disclose data to professional advisers, insurers, law-enforcement bodies, regulators, courts or other parties where necessary to comply with law, protect rights or address safety and fraud. We do not sell personal data.
7. International transfers
Some providers or their subprocessors may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on an adequacy decision, approved contractual clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism and assess appropriate safeguards. You may contact privacy@localads.ie for information about safeguards relevant to your data.
8. Retention
Account and profile data is retained while your account is active. Published content remains until you edit or delete it, the related account is closed, or moderation requires removal. Deleting an ad removes its live photos, favourites, reports and related conversation data from the active database. Saved searches, alerts and in-app notifications remain until deleted or the account is closed. Promotion orders, refund records and payment-event identifiers may be retained for accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling and legal compliance after a promotion or account ends. Consent choices are stored in the browser for up to 180 days, and consent receipts are retained for up to 24 months so we can demonstrate and administer those choices. A separate one-way hash derived from connection and browser information is retained for up to two hours solely to rate-limit the consent endpoint; the raw address is not stored in the consent receipt. Information may remain temporarily in provider backups until those backups rotate. We retain only what is reasonably necessary for each purpose and review retention according to sensitivity, risk and applicable limitation periods.
9. Your data-protection rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your data; correction of inaccurate data; erasure; restriction; portability; or objection to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. You may also object to direct marketing, although we do not currently send marketing communications. Send requests to privacy@localads.ie. We may ask for information needed to verify identity and will respond within the period required by law.
10. Complaints
Please contact privacy@localads.ie so we can address a concern. You also have the right to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie or to the supervisory authority in the EU or EEA country where you live, work or believe an infringement occurred.
11. Security
We use access controls, row-level database security, restricted administrative functions, encrypted transport in production, image validation and other organisational and technical safeguards. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Tell us promptly at privacy@localads.ie if you believe your account or personal data has been compromised.
12. Children
The service is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly offer accounts to children. Contact privacy@localads.ie if you believe a child has provided personal data so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.
13. Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when our processing, providers or legal obligations change. Material changes will be highlighted through the service or by another appropriate communication. The date above shows when this version was last updated.
