Terms of use
These terms govern your use of localads.ie, a local classified-ad service operated by Configurix Limited.

1. Operator and contact details
localads.ie is operated by Configurix Limited, a limited liability company registered in Ireland under company number 808025 on 9 February 2026. Registered office: 12A Lower Main Street, Lucan, Co. Dublin, K78 X5P8, Ireland. Managing Director: Kareem Najeeb. Contact: hello@localads.ie.
2. Accepting these terms
By creating an account, posting an ad, sending a message or otherwise using localads.ie, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts. If you use the service for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it.
3. What the marketplace does
localads.ie hosts classified ads and communication tools that help users find and contact each other. Unless we expressly say otherwise, Configurix Limited is not the seller, buyer, owner, auctioneer, agent, payment provider, delivery provider or party to a transaction. We do not take possession of advertised items and do not guarantee that a user, ad, item or service is genuine, lawful, safe, accurate or available.
4. Private sellers and consumer rights
localads.ie supports private and business advertisers. Business advertisers must identify themselves accurately and comply with all consumer, employment, tax, licensing and sector-specific duties that apply to them. When both parties act as private individuals, consumer-protection rules that apply to purchases from a business may not apply. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under Irish or EU law.
5. Search ranking and paid placement
Organic search results are ranked independently of payment. The default organic browse order shows published ads from newest to oldest. Search terms, category, county and other selected filters determine which ads qualify, and users may choose alternative sorting where offered. Featured ads appear only in a separate module labelled as paid placement. Buying a promotion does not improve an ad's position in organic results. More detail is available in our Promotion Terms.
6. Accounts and security
Use accurate account information, keep your password and devices secure, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise. Do not share passwords, one-time codes or payment credentials in marketplace messages.
7. Ads and seller responsibilities
You must have the right to advertise every item or service you post. Ads must be honest, current, placed in an appropriate category and include material information a buyer would reasonably need. Prices must not be misleading. Remove or update an ad when it is no longer available. You remain responsible for the ad, the item or service and every agreement you make with another user.
8. Prohibited content and conduct
Do not use the service for fraud, deception, spam, harassment, threats, discrimination, malware, unlawful scraping, account manipulation or attempts to bypass security or moderation. Do not advertise stolen, counterfeit, unsafe, recalled, illegal or unlawfully regulated goods or services, or content that infringes privacy, intellectual-property or other rights. We may publish more detailed category rules as the marketplace develops.
9. Messages, meetings and payments
Use messages only for genuine enquiries about an ad. Inspect items before paying, meet safely, keep evidence of agreements and avoid deposits, gift cards, cryptocurrency demands or unfamiliar payment links. Transactions, payment, collection, delivery, returns and disputes are arranged directly between users. Our Safety Guide forms part of the practical guidance for using the service.
10. Reports, moderation and account action
Users can report ads for review. We may investigate, reduce visibility, remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts where we reasonably believe these terms or the law have been breached, users may be at risk, or action is required by a competent authority. Where appropriate and legally permitted, we will explain material action and allow an appeal by email to hello@localads.ie. Urgent safety or legal obligations may require immediate action.
11. Your content and intellectual property
You retain ownership of content you submit. You give Configurix Limited a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize, display and distribute that content only as needed to operate, secure, promote and improve localads.ie. This licence ends when the content is deleted, subject to reasonable backup, legal and safety retention. Do not upload content you lack permission to use.
12. Availability and liability
We aim to provide a reliable service but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for user conduct, the condition or legality of advertised items, or losses arising from a transaction between users. We do not exclude liability where exclusion is unlawful, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Any other liability will be assessed under applicable law and the circumstances of the claim.
13. Ending use and changes to these terms
You may stop using the service at any time and may ask us to close your account. Provisions that by their nature should continue will survive closure. We may update these terms for legal, safety, security or service changes. Material changes will be communicated reasonably in advance where practicable; continued use after the effective date means the updated terms apply.
14. Governing law and complaints
These terms are governed by Irish law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections that apply where they live. Irish courts will have jurisdiction unless mandatory law provides another forum. Contact hello@localads.ie first so we can try to resolve a complaint. You may also have rights to contact the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, Coimisiún na Meán, the Data Protection Commission or another competent body.
15. Optional listing boosts
Optional single-ad boosts are governed by the Promotion Terms and Refund Policy in addition to these terms. Package price, duration and payment status are shown before purchase. Card payments are processed by Stripe in euro. SEPA bank transfers are paid directly to Local Ads against an invoice and remain pending until we verify cleared funds. Paid placement never changes organic result ordering.
